Mandatory Court Fees

During the past few years several county courts located through out the country have started charging an access fee for criminal and civil public records. Regardless of the reason for checking these records or the fact that they are public records, everyone checking criminal or civil records in the following counties is charged an access fee. Apparently the county officials have experienced an increase in the volume of records being accessed and saw an opportunity to generate additional revenue from it.

Currently, there are less than 300 out of the 3,300 counties in the United States that charge a mandatory court access fee. Following is a list of the known counties and the current fees. Additional counties may be added at any time a county court judge so orders. Current fees may be increased without notice at the discretion of the county court judges.

ABS reserves the right to add all mandatory court ordered access fees to the proposed price of all criminal or civil records. These additional fees will be listed on the itemized statementsubmitted with every invoice.
